Diana Torossian
Diana Torossian is a dynamic and forthright player in the Australian music publishing scene. For over twenty years she has been responsible for discovering, developing and managing some of the country’s biggest artists and songwriters.
Working her way up from Administration Coordinator to A&R manager for EMI Music Publishing Australia from the mid eighties to the mid nineties, Diana was responsible for signings such as Baby Animals, Diesel and Hoodoo Gurus.
Over next few years she worked for Mushroom Music Publishing, Sony Music Australia and Polygram Music Publishing Australia as A&R Manager, and she spent a couple of years at Peter Hoyland Management where she managed Phil Buckle, David Hirschfelder, David Hobson and rock band, Sneak.
From 2001 through 2007 Di was the Manager of A&R at BMG Music Publishing Australia, a position she relished, and she was involved in the signings of Powderfinger, Rogue Traders, The Androids, The Grates, Adam Reily, Phil Buckle, The Spazzys, Vanlustbader and David Campbell.
After a stint as Creative Director for the Australian branch of international music publisher, Parasongs, Di is now working with a brand new publishing entity soon to be launched. Approachable, lively and totally passionate about songwriters, as a member of the ASC Faculty, Di will return to the ASC in 2009 to speak about publishing in Australia. She will also be involved in conducting song pitch sessions, and will be a conference "Mentor". Di is a regular fixture here at the ASC and we love her honest, expert and forthrigh opinions so we are thrilled to have her back this year. |
